Banimura was her name.

Creatures of all shapes and sizes came and couldn't heal her, but one knew of the cure.

"Do you know the name of the fiery green gem that could heal Queen Banimura?" Asked Dahkamarra, the zebra puzzler.

"Embered Emeralds!" The herd exclaimed.

Farlocha, a young zebra and an adventurer, asked: "But where are we going to find the mystical Embered Emeralds?"

"Go to yonder paths, where the flowers are crystal," Dahkamarra said, "But we will only choose 3 zebras who would go in this quest."

Hentaph, Farlocha, and Kandan were the 3 zebras Dahkamarra chose.

In the setting sun, the Chosen 3 prepared for their long journey.

Just as they were about to rest for the first night of their journey, a wise monkey appeared to them and said, "Ask me any question and I will answer it no matter what."

Kandan asked, "Where are we going to find the Embered Emeralds?"

"Leo the the lion constellation will guide you," the monkey replied.

"Many, many years ago Leo was allowed to roam the plains of Africa to search for the Embered Emeralds.

"Night after night the garden appears to those who seek it," the monkey continued, "But Leo didn't make it to the garden, for the sun was rising and he had to go back to the heavens.

"Of course, he can still see the garden from the heavens," the monkey continued, "So whenever he sees a traveller in search of the emeralds, he guides them to the garden by following his brightest star."

Prancing about, the zebras thanked the monkey and set off, following Leo's brightest star.

Queen Banimura, back at the herd, was getting sicker as her sister Volina helped to ease her pain.

Reaching the garden, the zebras rejoiced.

"Success!" They cried as they took all sorts of treasures, including the Embered Emeralds.

They took as much as they could, then hurried back to the herd.

Under the shade of a tree, back at the heard, the Queen sent for her sister.

"Volina," she said, "Where are they?"

"We're here! We're here!" The Chosen 3 exclaimed as they ran to the Queen.

Xantan the healer took the gems and gave it to Banimura for her to eat.

"Yes!" Banimura rejoiced, "The healing powers of the gems had cured me!"

"Zebras, my friends!" She announced, "I give you, the 3 zebra legends!"
