About Chimera
.
chiˇmeˇra also chiˇmaeˇra (ki-ME-ra): n
1. An impossible fancy
2. A grotesque product of the imagination
3. Gr. Myth. A fire breathing monster, with a lion's head, goat's body, and serpent's head for a tail. Daughter of Typhoon.
Pronounced ki (key) me (as in do re MI) ra, the name was taken from a search for an alternative word for "dream" and "imagination". The
Greek mythology connected to the name Chimera has nothing to do with me, my personality, or this blog. I only found out about this fire breathing
female monster-counterpart of this word after I already made this blog.
I am never me
I am a big girl trying to fit in a small world.
Hmm... the boring stuff! Read on.
An alias that I have taken up in the Internet is Vicky, so I suppose if you call me that I will answer. I am also known as Ria Rosa, another pseudonym that I have taken.
I see beauty in certain shades of darkness. If you bring a light to assist
you in finding this type of beauty, you will not see it. You have to get used
to it and accept it for what it is, not for what you want it to be.
I am fascinated by the Goth and Emo culture. Their underground is their playground.
I am like a girl who stands outside the borders of a schoolyard looking jealously
at the children playing inside, wanting to take part but knowing I cannot be
like them.
I am a dark soul. A black sheep. But I am not Emo or Goth. I listen to loud,
noisy music, but my musical tastes are not restricted to rock alone. I do not
always wear black and red, and I do not possess Snow White's skin.
I used to fear the darkness. As a child I didn't want to open my eyes at night
in the fear that I would see something that all creatures breathing are not
supposed to see. But now, by liking the darker things in life (in concept, not
in its evil morbidity) I have learnt to accept it.
I am a writer. A composer. A poet. A musician. A painter.
I love the England that I read in classical literature, and wish to visit
Yorkshire in the future.
I love France and its beautiful language. It's as if everything they say is
so beautiful. Not to mention that a major turning point in history happened
there, particularly in 1789 and 1848. Google it up.
And I love Japan. I am a Nipponiac. I am halfway through my Japanese major.
I will visit that wonderful country someday.
I speak three languages: English, Tagalog, and Japanese (although am still
not quite that fluent in Nihongo). I can slightly understand the Chinese dialect
of Hokkien, but I'm still hopeless at it.
The current layout
.
This current layout is the second version of this blog. Titled Boudoir since it's my favourite word at the moment. Boudoir is such a beautiful word (and wonderfully French). I love the way it sounds, the way the intonation weaves around your mouth before spilling out into the world. Boudoir.
Featuring a play on patterns made by myself and a few modified CS2 patterns. Love how this one turned out =)
The First version of this blog was called n00b looking layout that I called Twilight, and lasted from around November to March. This was my... er... Christmas/New Year layout that I made in a flash since exams were about to start...
